Jang Beom June came to prominence as the lead singer and guitarist of Busker Busker, a folksie trio that rose to fame in South Korea through their appearance in the 2011 televised competition show Superstar K3.
• Jang’s voice ushers in spring each year, as Busker Busker’s 2012 hit “Cherry Blossom Ending” regularly re-enters the charts when the weather gets warmer.
• After the group went on hiatus in 2013, Jang gained recognition for his own songs. He’s now one of South Korea’s most popular solo artists.
• His 2014 single “Difficult Woman” set the tone for his brand of breezy, heartfelt solo work.
• Jang released self-titled LPs in 2014, 2016, and 2019. Hit singles include 2016’s “Fallen In Love (Only With You)” and 2019’s “Karaoke.”
• His 2019 single “Your Shampoo Scent in the Flowers,” from the television show Be Melodramatic, reached No. 1 on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart. He’s also performed songs for the soundtracks of other popular K-dramas, including 2016’s Signal and 2019’s Search WWW.
