Jaci Velasquez signed with the Christian recording label Myrrh and found a number one CCM chart hit with her Spanish-tinged single "If This World." Her debut album, Heavenly Place (1996), continued the Spanish inspiration and made the Top Ten on the Christian charts. A self-titled follow-up appeared in 1998, and a year later Velasquez resurfaced with Llegar a Ti. Crystal Clear (2000) emphasized the Latin and pop elements in her style while retaining her CCM roots, and Mi Corazón appeared in 2001. Released in 2003, Unspoken was steeped in pop texture, but was still unabashedly Christian-themed. She moved even further afield of her teen pop roots with 2005's alternative rock-influenced Beauty Has Grace. ~ John Bush
