A versatile and powerful voice in Christian music, Lilly Goodman grew up with close ties to the church. Born Liliana Goodman Meregildo in 1980 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, she made her recorded debut in 2001 and broke through with her 2003 album Vuelve a Casa, proving that modern inspirational music could take notes from pop and R&B. Goodman proudly foregrounded her Latin American roots in 2006’s Sobreviviré alongside more upbeat rhythms, splashy orchestral flourishes, and hip-hop influences. Yet her signature song remains the 2008 piano ballad “Al Final,” a more traditional showcase for her poignant phrasing and vocal crescendos. Now based in Dallas, Texas, Goodman released a faith-inspired personal development book in 2012 and complements her music career with her continued work as a worship pastor.
