German DJ, producer, and fryhide label boss HOSH creates otherworldly atmospheres with both his DJ sets and cinematic original productions.
• The Hamburg native first made his name in the bloghaus era of the mid-2000s.
• HOSH is a founding member of Diynamic, a prestigious German collective of deep house producers. Other members include Solomun and ARTBAT.
• He set up roots in Spain, where he drew inspiration for his 2017 album Stories From Sa Talaia, which he released independently for free download. The project opens with the steady thumping heartbeat of his unborn daughter.
• Since setting up his fryhide (meaning freedom) label, HOSH has released records by electronic contemporaries like Booka Shade and Tim Engelhardt.
• In summer 2013, he held a popular weekly residency at Sankey’s nightclub in Ibiza.
• HOSH’s standout 2020 single “Midnight (The Hanging Tree)” is a reworking of a James Newton Howard song featured on the soundtrack for the 2014 film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1.
