The punk-pop band FM Static hails from Toronto, Canada, and is made up of core members Trevor McNevan (guitar, vocals) and Steve Augustine (drums) along with a rotating line-up of musicians. McNevan is best known as the frontman of the rap-metal outfit Thousand Foot Krutch, but FM Static mine a musical vein that is much brighter and more melodic. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?, the group’s debut, appeared in 2003, and was followed by CRITICALLY ASHAMED in ’06. FM Static’s catchy, uptempo, guitar-fueled pop has drawn comparisons to punk-pop contemporaries such as Good Charlotte and blink-182.
