• Frontman Durand Jones hails from rural Louisiana. He founded the band as a grad student at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, enlisting fellow students Aaron Frazer (drums), Blake Rhein (guitar), Kyle Houpt (bass), and Justin Hubler (keyboard).
• The group released its first single, “Smile,” in 2015 and returned the following year with its self-titled debut album, recorded at home for a scant $452.11.
• Their second album,American Love Call, arrived in 2019, offering a more polished take on their nostalgic sound.
