Darumas is a Latin pop group formed by Argentine bassist Aldana Aguirre, American-Cuban guitarist and vocalist Ceci León, and Haiti-born, Chile-based lead singer Vedala Vilmond. Joined by a desire to stand out from the urbano-oriented flock of contemporary Latin artists, the trio instead developed a sound inspired by the groovy, old-school funk, R&B, and retro pop of artists such as Bruno Mars and Michael Jackson. Signed by Sony Music, the band released its first single "Daruma" in May 2024. One month later, it was followed by the seven-track EP Darumas.
