King Puentespina, also known as the drummer from indie band She’s Only Sixteen, blends modern flair with vivid harmony on his solo project Crwn. The Manila-based producer had success with various collaborations, including 2015’s “How I Love” with Jess Connelly, before releasing his solo EP in 2016. Tommy Gun flung open the doors to his world of thundering synths and psychedelic samples punctuated with drums and keys—a soundscape that flowed seamlessly into 2018’s Orchid and its chill-hop hits “Hana” and “In Bloom”. Atmospheric and lo-fi, Crwn’s records are simply hypnotic.
Crwn has also released music as a member of SOS.
