∙ Crazy Town’s best-known lineup also included DJ AM and drummer James Bradley, Jr., who had previously played with Chuck Mangione and Mary’s Danish.
∙ Shifty Shellshock’s dad, Rollin Binzer, directed the 1974 concert film Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones, while Mazur’s dad, Irwin, once managed Billy Joel.
∙ In 2001, Crazy Town’s “Butterfly” spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
∙ “Butterfly” is built around a sample of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 1989 song “Pretty Little Ditty.”
∙ Shifty Shellshock lent his vocals to Paul Oakenfold’s 2002 dance hit “Starry Eyed Surprise.”
