Multi-instrumentalist Cosmo Sheldrake’s mother is Jill Purce, a renowned vocal teacher who specializes in overtone chanting and worked with composer Karlheinz Stockhausen in the ’70s.
∙ At age 16, Sheldrake formed the band Gentle Mystics alongside singer Noémie duCimetière and rapper Elian Gray.
∙ He traveled to New York in 2013 to study vocal improvisation with Grammy Award-winning singer Bobby McFerrin.
∙ In 2017, he composed the soundtrack for a Galapagos Islands-focused episode of Louie Schwartzberg’s nature series Moving Art.
