In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. At 16, I saw Half Moon Run at Jazz Fest after work. I didn’t make music then or know the band, but something about their sound really moved me. It was unlike anything I’d heard. I still remember how incredibly talented musicians they were live.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “When Girls Love” I love this song because it was my first ever over a beat—before I'd even been in a studio. It’s raw, instinctive, 19-year-old me, heart slightly bruised. I thought it was so deep… it wasn’t. But that’s what makes it so charming (and funny) now.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Living this life—making art with friends and playing shows across Canada—means everything to me. I love making music, and getting to share it with people..I’m incredibly grateful to be able to do this every day, and I hope I get to do it forever.
