About Busby Marou
Artist Biography
Australian duo Busby Marou make bubbly folk-pop built on swooning, blues-erasing melodies. Songwriters Thomas Busby and Jeremy Marou met in the smallest pub in Rockhampton, Queensland in 2007 and decided to join musical forces, eventually releasing their self-titled debut in 2010. Uplifting, wistful, and a little romantic, lead single “Biding My Time” offered up what would become the signature Busby Marou sound, complete with breezy strums, tender vocals, and irresistible rhythm. With 2017’s Postcards from the Shell House, they kept up the energy while opting for a little extra sophistication in the production, making songs like the devotional “Best Part of Me” and sun-kissed “Getaway Car” shine. In 2019, they really laid into the posi-vibes they’ve become known for with The Great Divide, providing rousing sing-alongs (“Lucky Stars”) and guidance for moving on (“Over Drinking Over You”); they even sound strong in the face of loss (“Gone”).
