Bones & Beeker are a Minneapolis-based duo with a pedigree in both indie rock and underground rap; their warm, wistful songs combine smooth soul-pop vocals with boom-bap production sensibilities and a hint of Latin flavor. The duo consists of vocalist/guitarist Anthony Newes and producer/DJ BK-One (Brendan Kelly), and their music often includes contributions by bassist Chris Bierden (Poliça) and guitarist Nate Collis (Atmosphere). Longtime friends, the duo had fused their disparate influences into musical collaborations for years before settling on the band name Bones & Beeker in 2013. After developing musical ideas and writing songs for a couple years, Bones & Beeker signed to Wax Poetics in 2015, releasing their self-titled debut album in November of that year. ~ Paul Simpson
