About Blondfire
Artist Biography
Michigan indie rock outfit Blondfire was created by siblings Erica and Bruce Driscoll. Previously known as Astaire, they changed their name to Blondfire in order to avoid any potential legal hassles from the iconic actor's estate, while retaining their original sound, which recalled the Cardigans and Metric. Signed briefly with EMI in 2006, they went on to release their debut, My Someday, on their own Tender Tender Rush label in 2008. They eventually signed with Warner and released the EP Where the Kids Are in 2012, and sophomore LP Young Heart in 2014. In 2015, Bruce left Blondfire to focus on his own band, the indie pop outfit Freedom Fry, while Erica released another EP in 2016 titled True Confessions. ~ Gregory Heaney & Neil Z. Yeung
