Combining sophisticated, shadowy post-punk and searching monologues on the minutiae of everyday experience and society, London's Bas Jan is helmed by Serafina Steer. Operating as a solo project at the time of its 2018 debut, Yes I Jan, Bas Jan had expanded to a four-piece that included a dedicated electric violinist in time for 2022's Baby U Know. They then brought in outside producers for the first time, resulting in 2023's more accomplished Back to the Swamp.
