• Florent Hugel has wide-ranging musical tastes. In addition to making solo music as HUGEL, he was one-half of the EDM outfit Kitsch 2.0, and he’s produced hip-hop under the side project Hipshaker.
• He teamed up with German DJ and producer Robin Schulz for the 2017 streaming smash “I Believe I’m Fine,” a gold seller in Germany. The following year, he and British R&B singer Taio Cruz joined forces for the dance-pop single single “Signs.”
• Later that year, HUGEL’s frenetic, bass-forward remix of El Profesor’s version of the traditional Italian folk song “Bella Ciao” cropped up in party playlists worldwide. The track spent 39 weeks on the German charts, peaking at No. 2.
• HUGEL has remixed tracks by the likes of J. Balvin, Tiësto, and Robin Schulz.
