My mother drank and smoked

I thought it would never end

The fights, bitter truths, that lie

I don't know why

All of this is happening to me

She said, "I don't care, I don't care"

She whispers again, "Why do you care?"

I looked up at her and stared

Said, "Mom, why are you here?

With me, with me

Are you miserable?"

And then they froze

Arguments, fighting that never ends

My mother became worse
