Anti - Hero

I washed out all my energy on splitting hairs Pushed myself to reinvent what maybe wasn’t there To identify a common thread

‘Fore I cross the line

Just to pass the test

Such a funny thing to be the anti-hero

One pint in, barrier down

Spilling to a friend

I make a fist, guilt on the brow

Is it me or them?

Such an angular choreography

That I stumble through, trying to find my feet Put your hands together for the anti-hero

And the pendulum swinging overhead Carries all the weight of the words I’ve said Could somebody ever love an anti-hero?
