But, what I sent to Steve was

With no indication about what the tempo was

No indication about what the harmonies were

Or any other thing

And I even said, "If you wanna change some of the notes, go change some notes, you do what you do"

And uh, before Steve talks again, what I wanna say is

This piece of paper showed up the other day

And what it says here

Which, I think is a gift from Steve's copyist or maybe from Steve

But what it says is, "Music by Jason Robert Brown and Stephen Sondheim"

And I was just about done when I saw that one

Alright, back to you, what do you got?

I have to, I have to say

If I'd heard Jason's harmony, harmonization of it

I never would have written this

That kind of lushness in feeling

But I just heard a tune and uh, as Jason just said, it just went

So, anyway

So this was my solution

And so I'll play my melody and Steve is gonna play the harmonization he did underneath it

Oh, and incidentally, I sent uh, we decided to have the vice versa

I sent him a melody, and he harmonized it

Next year, you can all hear it
