Comes over me like a prairie fire

In the grasslands where my mother let me grow

Comes over me like a stampede

The weight of a thousand buffalo

Shakes the valley to the stone

Shakes the marrow in my bones

I'm afraid that if I cry

That I may never stop

I'm watching tangerine skies

With your name caught in my throat

In my lungs, in the air I breathe

And I'm afraid that if I cry

That I might never stop

It runs me down, it thins me down

You could use me for your watercolour world

And I paint the blue like you taught me to

I turn into a watercolour girl
