Workin in a coal mine, never saw the sunshine, Daisy was his guiding light

Danny was keeper, always digging deeper, but she never saw him down in the rough

Covered in black, bottle in a brown sack, every rock he got was never enough

He was diggin' for coal, but she was diggin' for gold

So he went and popped the lock down at Percy’s pawn shop, ya he knew what he was lookin for

Danny had a plan, he was gonna be the man, had a movie playin’ in his mind

He thought he’d get the girl, but even if he’d brought the world, no, she’d never be satisfied
