  I’m not drinking to forget

  I’m trying to remember why I ain’t with you 

 Sometimes I drink it on ice 

 sometimes I just drink it straight

  with a little soda can be nice

  sometimes I even drink it with lemonade

  I put in a little shot of regret

  and a little splash of hate

 They say whiskey ain’t a fix

 for the problems that we have

  but next to being with you

  my drinking ain’t so bad

 I wake up to your face each and every day

 but at least I know this hangover

  will eventually go away

 Go up to Old Grand Dads house up by Knob Creek

 Go ahead and dip into his Woodford Reserve

 Might as well pick up Old Man Barton too 

 Bring him and do us a little Wild Turkey hunting

 You know what else? It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t invite our neighbor
