Sobre Nancy Sinatra
Biografia do artista
Nancy Sinatra’s defiant and sensual music made her one of the most singular pop icons of the late ’60s, finding resonance in the work of Madonna and Lana Del Rey. Born to Frank Sinatra and his first wife, Nancy, in 1940, Sinatra launched her singing career via TV appearances on her father’s TV programs in the late ’50s and early ’60s. On the record label he co-founded, Reprise, Nancy released a string of Top 40 hits in the late ’60s, led by the attitude song “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’,” a 1966 superhit co-written and produced by Lee Hazlewood, now considered Sinatra’s most essential collaborator. In 1968, Hazlewood recorded alongside Sinatra on the enduring cult-favorite duets LP Nancy & Lee; their partnership continued into the early ’70s, even as Sinatra ventured into acting and became less active in music. Following her musical resurgence in the late ’90s, the two reunited for a reunion album in 2004; that same year, Sinatra also released a solo self-titled record including superstar guests like U2, Morrissey, and Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore.
