About Mr JazziQ
Biografia do artista
Mr JazziQ is one of the most influential figures in amapiano. Hailing from the township of Alexandra, South Africa, JazziQ (born Tumelo Manyoni in 1995) was first introduced to music by his father and uncle, who had personal relationships with established artists like Oskido and Black Coffee. By his late teens, JazziQ was already a seasoned DJ and producer, and in 2017, he joined forces with Josiah De Disciple to start JazziDisciples. As one half of the short-lived duo, he helped pioneer and popularize the genre through albums such as The Long Lasting (2018), Bafana Ba Numba (2018), and 2019’s Disciples of Piano. In early 2020, JazziQ struck out as a solo act with the release of his EPs 0303 and For the Babies. During that same year, he remained true to his collaborative nature by teaming up with producer Busta 929 on Maba Jabul’abantu, while 2021’s Party with the English, his first full-length project, draws on his light-hearted energy and vibrant personality. Through his label Black Is Brown Entertainment, JazziQ has offered a platform to artists like Lady Du, Mpura, Reece Madlisa and Zuma, all of whom have gone on to be stars.
