Top Songs of 2024: Canada
Playlist - 100 Songs
Apple Music’s end-of-year charts are based on plays between November 1, 2023, and October 31, 2024.
It’s kind of a big deal that Taylor Swift chose to close out her monumental Eras Tour in Canada—with six shows in Tayronto alone. She’s obviously hugely beloved here, and this year’s charts bear that out: Swift notched nine of the 100 most-listened-to songs on Apple Music in Canada. But the biggest tunes belonged to country—or at least nodded in its direction. Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Post Malone & Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help” finished at the top, and when you add them all up, Wallen, Luke Combs, and Zach Bryan account for more than 30 percent of the songs on this list. What else happened this year? Benson Boone bid farewell to a friend, Hozier got sweet on a special somebody, and Sabrina Carpenter gave us just the shot of caffeine we didn’t know we needed.
Elsewhere in the pop world, Canadians Tate McRae and Charlotte Cardin continued their upward trajectory, and Billie and Ariana kept their names on everyone’s lips with “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love),” respectively. Drake and Kendrick put hip-hop’s discourse firmly in the present, while newcomer Tommy Richman brought throwback funk and R&B to “MILLION DOLLAR BABY.” But you’d have to stop the world just to get Chappell Roan's “Good Luck, Babe!” out of your head. Here are the top 100 songs that Canada couldn’t get enough of in 2024.
