That sound distils classic female voices like the polyphony of French chanteuse Edith Piaf and the rhythmic, captivating tone of jazz queen Ella Fitzgerald. While she draws inspiration from jazz, swing and the visual arts and literature, Zee doesn't shy away from complex themes and musicality—after all, she wrote the whimsical, ukulele-led “Kantoi” referencing Kierkegaard.
