Matching indelible choruses with megawatt charm, it’s no wonder Marty Zambotto, aka Go-Jo, was selected to represent Australia at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest. Since debuting in 2016 with the Emma Carn duet “Nobody Like You,” the Western Australia-raised, Sydney-based Zambotto has enjoyed cult stardom in Australia and beyond. He brings a cheeky flair to almost everything he does, but he can do earnest too: His teary 2020 version of The Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” went near-viral during lockdown, and he later covered Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” with a similar quiver in his voice for Triple J’s Like a Version series. His 2023 singles “Mrs. Hollywood” and “Loverman” added more rock oomph to his clean-cut sound, all setting the stage for his 2025 Eurovision entry “Milkshake Man.” Co-written with three members of Sheppard, it’s a clubby synth-pop anthem packed with double entendres. Hearing it just once will confirm how Zambotto earned this dream gig before even releasing an album. Besides, who doesn’t love a good milkshake?
