The passion running through the inflections of the Italian language is writ large in LIBERATO’s music. The charismatic musician’s identity remains unknown but his songs, like the pleading “NUN CE PENZÀ” and “NOVE MAGGIO”, cut straight to the heart. In addition to taking cues from American hip-hop, the Napoli artist also incorporates elements of house (“WE COME FROM NAPOLI”) and syncopated Latin rhythms (“E TE VENG’ A PIGLIÀ”). He has a flair for utilising floating synths and trap beats but his voice is his calling card—tender, agile, breezy and commanding, all at the same time.
