With thriving careers of their own, Froukje and S10 have delivered some of Dutch alternative’s most exciting recent releases; but when they joined forces, they filled the pop space with fresh energy. “I really love winter, there’s very little I don’t enjoy about it,” Froukje tells Apple Music. “In the summer, I’m often outdoors, at festivals, and at parties. In the winter, I take more time to make music indoors.” Much like their records, their selection spans the spectrum of folk, synth and alt-pop, with added French touch classics and The Beatles for a season that lowers the volume, but amplifies the emotion for a cozy mix of melancholy and beauty. So where does Froukje think is the perfect place to listen to all of this? “Under a blanket, reflecting on the past year, while it’s snowing outside.”
