The King Blues bash out an energetic mix of street punk and folk music shot through with the snotty humour, radical politics and romantic idealism of charismatic shouter Jonny “Itch” Fox. Trading buzz-saw guitars and pounding drums for ukuleles and bouncing ska beats, the band's utterly atypical take on punk boldly challenges the genre's standard stylistic conventions. Fox and company have even worked elements of hip-hop and spoken word into their multifaceted sound. The outcome never wavers: raucous, passionate music filled with the spirit of rebellion.
