Viva Suecia’s lush layers of instrumentation intertwine in a tuneful cascade, anchored by lead singer Rafa Val’s ragged yet velvety voice. The quartet formed in Murcia 2013 and have since honed a distinct brand of sweeping indie-rock anthems with simmering guitar solos. Influenced by alternative icons like Radiohead and Los Planetas, Viva Suecia take their name from drummer Fernando Campillo’s love for the Swedish post-rock scene. But the band have defined their own sound, one of evocative lyricism wrapped in a rich dreamscape of melodies and rhythms.
