Guano Apes are proof that versatility is the key to longevity. When the quartet hit Germany's alt-rock scene in the '90s, they aimed to be the toughest kids on the block. Their earliest hits are angry, funky and inspired by American post-grunge and nu-metal; Sandra Nasić breathes fire and spits nails as though she were the rancid hell spawn of Alanis Morissette and Fred Durst. Eventually, Nasić and her fellow Apes grew up and mellowed out. After lying low in the mid-'00s, they returned with a new (and equally successful) sound, heavy on club beats and silky pop. Nobody can mosh forever.
