“Everyone worked hard in 2024,” Sakura of LE SSERAFIM tells Apple Music. “I think 2025 will be an even brighter year. Let’s find joy along with LE SSERAFIM!” To welcome the new year, group members Sakura and Kazuha have created a playlist of their favourite songs as a special gift to their fans. First, Sakura picks “Impurities”—her favourite LE SSERAFIM song—and “Perfect Night”, which she says is how she “wants to spend a perfect year”. She also includes “I stan U” by hugely popular Korean singer and songwriter IU. Sakura talks about the charm of the song: “I fell in love with [it] when I went to see her in concert. The lyrics are lovely, and it makes me feel good.” Sung Si Kyung’s ballad “Every Moment of You”, which was memorably used in a Korean TV drama, is another favourite. “I think I could have a good year even if I only listened to the tone of Sung Si Kyung’s voice,” Sakura says. She also pushes 2NE1’s “I AM THE BEST”, saying: “I think everyone will definitely feel better after listening to this.” Kazuha’s picks, meanwhile, focus on the messages contained in memorable songs. “When I was with my friends in a cafe, this song came on. Its vibe was so good that I immediately looked it up. This song touches my heart,” Kazuha says about her discovery of the late Ryuichi Sakamoto’s “Blu”. Nathalie Jane’s “June” is another song which invites contemplation with its calming sound. “Every now and then in life, I think there are times when you want to return to a moment in your past. This song expresses those emotions,” Kazuha says. “While you listen, please notice the memories that go through your head.” On “Happy Mistake”, in which Lady Gaga examines the feelings of the villain she plays in Joker: Folie à Deux, Kazuha says: “The lyrics are sad, but it’s a song with a deep message and moments everybody can definitely identify with.” Henry Moodie’s “right person, wrong time” is a song “where if you pay attention to the lyrics, you’ll feel like you’ve seen a movie. Please try listening to it when you are alone.” Kazuha also offers tunes with relaxing moods, like Zinadelphia’s “Cosmos”, which she recommends “when you want to drink coffee alone and relax”. In 2024, LE SSERAFIM made great strides and captivated listeners around the world. Keeping that momentum, they rush up to an even more shining stage in 2025.
