Bonding over a shared love of folk music, Qin Hao and Zhang Xiaohou formed Good Meimei in 2010. Their delicate compositions weave together carefully crafted melodies and detailed rhythms, with captivating, immersive results. Combining traditional Chinese instruments with gently played electronics, guitars and drums, the pair draw on a rich history of native folk traditions while giving then a refreshingly modern twist. Their soft vocals stir over sparse arrangements, leading to a lulling, mesmerising atmosphere.
