Spin Doctors is a blues-influenced rock group that emerged from New York City’s fertile, late-’80s jam band scene.
∙ Their 1991 debut, Pocket Full of Kryptonite, topped Billboard’s Heatseekers Album chart and was nominated for Favorite Pop/Rock Album at the American Music Awards.
∙ The band has had two Top 40 Pop hits, including their debut single, “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong,” which reached No. 17 in 1992.
∙ “Two Princes” was nominated for a Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal Grammy Award and was included in VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Songs of the ’90s.
∙ An instrumental part from 1996’s “If Wishes Were Horses” was used as the theme song for two seasons of the Michael J. Fox sitcom Spin City.
∙ You’ve Got to Believe in Something, their 1996 release, featured appearances by legendary funk keyboardist Bernie Worrell, rapper Biz Markie, and comedian/musician Tommy Chong.
∙ Dumpstaphunk’s Ivan Neville toured with Spin Doctors in the late ’90s and contributed keyboards to 1999’s Here Comes the Bride.
