Since the late 2000s, Dominican singer-songwriter Omega helped popularize a modern merengue revival that blends pop, R&B, and hip-hop with the Latin American dance genre.
∙ Omega was featured on Fuego’s 2009 chart-topping single “Mi Alma Se Muere,” trading verses with Grammy-winning rapper Pitbull.
∙ El Dueño del Flow marked his first entry on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, reaching the Top 30 in 2009.
∙ His 2011 breakthrough LP, El Dueño del Flow 2, earned the singer a Gold album certification and landed at No. 3 on the Billboard Tropical Albums chart.
