Known for his lithe, soaring, and virtuosic vocals, Gino Vannelli is among the most dynamic and enduring artists of his time. He's in a small class of vocalists who have scaled the upper reaches of Billboard's pop, rock, adult contemporary, R&B, club, jazz, and classical charts. Vannelli debuted in 1970 and hit his stride a few years later with a diverse succession of albums. A hot streak of gold records in his native Canada culminated in Brother to Brother (1978), a platinum triumph featuring the Canadian number one hit "I Just Wanna Stop," also a Grammy-nominated Top Ten U.S. hit. The singer, songwriter, arranger, and producer went platinum again with Black Cars (1984) and has continued to move from one unpredictable project to the next. Among these are Yonder Tree (1995), Canto (2002), and the philosophical and reflective The Life I Got (To My Most Beloved) (2025), dedicated to his late wife.
