A former welterweight boxing champion, Omar Montes is a Spanish singer, rapper, and reality TV star best known as the winning contestant on the 2019 season of Supervivientes.
∙ Montes, a hip-hop fan since childhood, decided to pursue music following his retirement from boxing and launched his recording career with the 2015 single “Mentiras.”
∙ After appearing on the reality show Gran Hermano VIP, he became an in-demand partner for such duets as “Así Así,” his 2018 hit with Spanish singer Alba Dreid.
∙ His Supervivientes win helped push “La Rubia (Remix 2)”—his 2019 collaboration with Dominican rapper La Nueva Escuela—to Platinum status in Spain.
∙ “Alocao,” his smash 2019 duet with Spanish trap singer Bad Gyal, topped Spain’s singles chart and went quadruple Platinum there.
∙ In 2019, he released his acclaimed debut album, Vida Mártir.
∙ He collaborated with reggaetón singer Rvfv on the 2020 single “No Puedo Amar,” which reached No. 10 on Apple Music’s Top 100: Spain chart.
