Inheriting his father Clint Eastwood's love for jazz, American bassist and composer Kyle Eastwood quickly abandoned an early career as a cinematic actor to devote himself to music and a woody, elegant bass tone. He formed a quartet during the 1990s, and began scoring his father's films with 1998's The Rookie, the same year he issued his bandleader debut, From There to Here. Eastwood's discography is marked by successes like the contemporary jazz and soul accents of Paris Blue (2005) and Now (2006), and punctuated by original soundtracks for films by his father such as Mystic River, Gran Torino, Invictus, and J Edgar. In between, he scored and recorded the music for sister Alison Eastwood's Rails & Ties (2007). 2019's Cinematic offered his interpretations of classic film themes. He paid homage to his father with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra on 2023's Symphonic, featuring music from Clint Eastwood's films.
