Acerca de Karmin
Biografía de este/a artista
Pop duo Karmin’s power existed in the chemistry between its two members—a real-life couple who made quirky, exuberant music together for seven years.
• Amy and Nick Noonan met while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. They started making music together and went viral on YouTube with covers of popular songs. Their 2011 version of Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now” has earned more than 111 million views.
• The name Karmin combines the word “karma” and the Latin word carmen, meaning “song.”
• They released their debut EP, Hello, after signing with Epic Records in 2012. The singles “Brokenhearted” and “Hello” both reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart.
• Following the release of their 2014 debut album, Pulses, Karmin parted ways with Epic in hopes of getting “a bit nerdier” with their music. They soon teamed with rapper Watsky for “No Flex Zone (Remix),” inspired by Rae Sremmurd’s “No Flex Zone.”
• In 2016—the same year Amy and Nick were married—they released the Sugar EP and their sophomore album, Leo Rising.
• The duo announced it was finished in 2017, setting the stage for Amy to launch solo career as the rapper Qveen Herby.
