Puerto Rican producer Egbert “Haze” Rosa planned to become a psychologist but abandoned his studies after falling in love with creating music on his laptop.
∙ One of his first buzz-worthy productions was 2010’s “Si No Le Contesto,” by reggaetón outfit Plan B, which spent two years on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.
∙ He’s written and produced several hits for Puerto Rican superstar Yandel, including “Encantadora,” which won a pair of Latin Grammy Awards in 2016.
∙ In 2017, Dominican singer Natti Natasha broke through with the Haze-produced smash “Criminal,” which hit the Top 10 in 15 countries and has more than 2 billion views.
∙ The flagship artist on Rosa’s House of Haze label is singer Jhay Cortez, who cowrote the Top 40 hit “I Can’t Get Enough,” featuring benny blanco, J Balvin, and Selena Gomez.
