Artist Biography
Starting out as one of the regional breakout acts of the larger K-pop idol group NCT, Mandopop boy band WayV quickly made a name for themselves as radio and TV pop stars.
∙ WayV’s 2019 debut, Take Off – EP, became a Top 10 hit on the Billboard World Albums chart.
∙ They had their international breakthrough with 2019’s Take Over the Moon – EP, which included an English-language version of their hit “Love Talk.”
∙ At the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards, WayV won Best New Asian Artist and performed an intricately choreographed dance medley of their hits “Moonwalk” and “Take Off.”
∙ Their debut full-length, 2020’s Awaken The World, announced via an interactive mobile game, was the band’s first release to land on the Japanese Oricon Albums Chart.
∙ In 2020, they starred in their own reality TV series, WayVision, which featured six different member-hosted segments and behind-the-scenes footage of the band’s trip to South Korea.
