Tracy Byrd is a country music singer who has charted more than 30 hits over a career spanning more three decades.
∙ Byrd got his start singing in the Beaumont, Texas, band Rimfire before he started recording his self-titled debut in 1992.
∙ In 1993, he earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with the career-making hit “Holdin’ Heaven,” the third single from the Gold-certified Tracy Byrd LP.
∙ No Ordinary Man—Byrd’s 1994 double-Platinum second album—produced the fan favorites “Watermelon Crawl” and “The Keeper of the Stars.”
∙ Over a decade into his career, he made a comeback in 2001 with Ten Rounds, which featured the massive, chart-topping crossover hit “Ten Rounds with Jose Cuervo.”
∙ His 2003 single “Making Memories of Us” became an even bigger hit for Keith Urban, who recorded it for his 2004 album, Be Here.
∙ In addition to raising money for children’s charities, Byrd is the Country Music Association’s spokesperson for the Special Olympics.
