In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Around 5 years old I found a tape in my mom's pawn shop. It had "Welcome To The Jungle" on one side and "Mr. Brownstone" on the other. I can remember the exact feeling hearing that kind of music, for the first time, like it was yesterday.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alice In Chains, MTV Unplugged: Alice In Chains Nirvana, Nevermind Super Deluxe Edition ZZ Top, Tres Hombres I discovered ZZ Top at 8 or 9 and between the guitar licks and grooves I was hooked and had to try and learn them. Nirvana and Alice in Chains consumed my high school years as I really connected with grunge and the messaging.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Day By Day” This is the most honest and vulnerable song I've ever written. Writing something so personal about my struggles with alcohol and losing my father to alcoholism at a young age was not easy but necessary. The messages I get from fans are powerful.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing "The Late Show with David Letterman" at 23 was pretty epic! Gave me a taste of what I knew I wanted early on. Took me a few more records before I found any level of success again but I'm grateful that Dave gave me my first BIG moment!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'm grateful for every moment, every fan and friend I've made along the way. I always strive to be better and find the next riff or lyric but any day I can wake up and play music for a living is great day!
