About The Hatters
Artist Biography
Wildly theatrical and perpetually in search of a good time, The Hatters is a boisterous Russian gypsy-folk-punk outfit.
∙ Before founding the group in 2015, The Hatters’ two frontmen, Yuriy Muzychenko and Pavel Lichadeyev, worked together at Litsedei, a St. Petersburg theater company for clowns and mimes.
∙ Led by the raucous single “Russian Style,” their debut album, Полная шляпа, caught fire in 2017 and was quickly followed by the English-language LP Forever Young Forever Drunk.
∙ Their releases have all come out via LB Family, a label headed up by the popular Russian outfit Little Big.
∙ Muzychenko appears in the video for Little Big’s “UNO,” as he was drafted to perform the track with the group at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest (which was canceled due to the pandemic).
∙ In 2020, The Hatters composed the soundtrack for Bathroom, a one-person stage play starring band member (and Yuriy’s wife) Anna Muzychenko.
