About Serani Poji
Artist Biography
Serani Poji is a Japanese pop group associated with the vibrant Shibuya-kei scene that grew out of Tokyo in the late-'90s. Its primary member is Sasaki Tomoko, a video game composer and producer who took over sole leadership of the project following the release of their third album, Ochamekan, in 2004. Merry Go Round Jailhouse appeared in 2010, after which Tomoko shelved the project. In 2023 there was a surge of renewed interest in Serani Poji when one of their songs went viral on social media. An alternate mix, "Pipo Pipo (Sped Up Version)" was released at the end of that year.
