About Project Pat
Artist Biography
An underrated figure in the early-2000s “dirty south” hip-hop era, rowdy rapper Project Pat has influenced scores of artists over the years.
• Pat is the older brother of Juicy J, founder of the Memphis rap group Three 6 Mafia. Juicy J often invited Pat to contribute verses to Mafia songs—his most notable feature is his hook on the 2000 single “Sippin On Some Syrup.”
• In 2001, Pat released his second album, Mista Don’t Play - Everythangs Workin’, which spawned his two biggest solo singles, “Chickenhead” and “Don’t Save Her.”
• By making himself available to younger artists looking to tap into the rap veteran’s throwback Southern sound, Pat successfully positioned his career for an auspicious second act.
• Cardi B paid homage to the Memphis legend by sampling “Chickenhead” in her 2018 single “Bickenhead.”
