About P.O.D.
Artist Biography
Known for their groove-based hybrid of punk, metal, reggae, and rap, P.O.D. inject heart, soul, and positivity into their music. Emerging in the early '90s, P.O.D., aka "Payable On Death," rose to the top of the nu-metal scene with their third album and major-label debut, 1999's The Fundamental Elements of Southtown. The platinum LP spawned the hits "Southtown" and "Rock the Party (Off the Hook)." However, 2001's multi-platinum Satellite launched them even higher on the charts, riding the strength of Grammy-nominated hits "Alive" and "Youth of a Nation." Subsequent albums like 2003's Payable on Death, 2006's Testify, 2008's When Angels and Serpents Dance, and 2012's Murdered Love matured while keeping the band planted firmly atop the U.S. Christian charts. 2015's The Awakening pushed them into concept album territory for the first time, as 2018's Circles dipped back into an earlier, classic sound. P.O.D. returned with "Drop" off 2024's Veritas.
