Puerto Rican singer Maldy (Edwin Vázquez Vega) became famous as one-half of Plan B, one of the most popular acts from the first wave of reggaeton that took the world by storm in the early 2000s. In 2018 the cousins decided to put Plan B on hold and concentrate on their respective solo projects. Maldy released his debut album, Sicalipsis, in 2019, but his activities were soon interrupted by the pandemic. He resurfaced with a bang in 2023 when Karol G invited him to guest on her megahit "Gatúbela," a track that saluted Maldy as an icon of old-school reggaeton.
