A gifted singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist whose work is rooted in vintage blues, jazz, and R&B styles, Luke Winslow-King learned about music in a well-respected academic setting as well as by busking on the street. A traveling musician, he found a home in New Orleans when fate stranded him there in 2002. In the Crescent City, he launched his recording career with a self-released and self-titled album in 2006 before cutting 2013's The Coming Tide, the first of a handful of well-regarded discs for Bloodshot Records. While blues remained at the heart of Winslow-King's music, he began adding funk and R&B flavors to potent effect on 2022's If These Walls Could Talk and 2024's Flash-A-Magic.
